Modern Security has a clear recruitment and training policy. Guards are recruited on age, height and literacy specifications. They are then sent for vetting, which is facilitated through the ZRP Criminal Investigations Department (CID). After these qualifications, they are then trained in the Basic Security Guard Course. Experienced ex-Trainers in the Zimbabwe National Army-run this training course.
Our specialized training is outsourced from other institutions, i.e. firearms and dog handling. The guards are also trained in the use and maintenance of Two-way Radios for communication. Our training module encompasses and emphasizes the observance of the secrecy and confidentiality act. The guards are trained in residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, mining and retail security guarding.
On award of contract, the following is the Management Policy: -Meetings are held with the stakeholders to outline the expectations from both parties, surveys are carried out to determine the correct specifications, recommendations are made, specific training is carried out together with the client, kitting is done, handover/takeover procedures are adhered to, then finally, guards are deployed accordingly.
Modern Security has a supervision policy that follows this channel: – guard is supervised on shift 3 times, initially, on starting out time, then randomly 2 other times by a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO). Senior beat officers in the areas so deployed then check the supervisor. On multiple contracts, on-loco supervision is preferred.
